RAMS Advisor in the ERTMS Programme – Bane NOR
Bane NOR is in the process of revolutionizing the signalling systems on the Norwegian railway network with a major initiative that will leave a lasting mark on the entire industry.
The outdated signalling equipment is being replaced with the digital, state-of-the-art ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System). This is not just a project – it is Norway’s largest digitalization programme, set to shape the railway sector for years to come.
In this exciting transformation, Rytec has provided a RAMS advisor to the Line Specific Engineering (LSE) sub-project. Our RAMS advisor plays a central role in ensuring that ERTMS is safe, efficient, and reliable across the different railway lines. RAMS work is essential to guarantee that the project meets strict requirements for safety and availability.
RAMS activities in LSE include:
Conducting risk assessments and safety analyses
Performing RAM analyses
Establishing and following up RAMS plans
Establishing and monitoring hazard and RAM logs
Rytec has contributed as RAMS advisor on several key line projects: Østfold Line Northern Section (OBVL N), Vestfold Line (VESB1 A, B, C and DRM HEN), Dovre Line South (DOVB S), Kongsvinger Line (KVGB), Røros Line (ROSB), Sørlands Line Central (SORB M), and Sørlands Line West (SORB V).
This project carries great ambitions, and we at Rytec are proud to contribute to a development that ensures a safer and more reliable railway for the future.
