PTO Team Leader SL18 – Sporveien Trikken AS

This is an exciting upgrade of Oslo’s tram fleet, set to give the city streets a real boost.

The new, state-of-the-art trams are being delivered from Spain between 2021 and 2025. SL18 replaces both SL79 and SL95 (SL = articulated tram, with the number indicating the year of order). The very first tram was proudly unveiled at Grefsen in Oslo on October 12, 2020.

Reception of the trams in Oslo and the follow-up after arrival are critical phases, where each tram set is thoroughly inspected to ensure that any faults or deficiencies are identified early.

Rytec has played a key role in this project by:

• Leading the technical working groups
• Serving as PTO (Preliminary Take-Over) team leader

On assignment from Sporveien AS, Rytec has been responsible for coordinating and managing Sporveien’s PTO programme, carrying out and documenting quality inspections, functional checks, and test runs on open track, as well as actively participating in the deliveries themselves. This project is a fantastic example of how the future is rolling into Oslo on rails.
